Miss Danyka Johannsen - Sudbury Dance Teacher
Miss Rachiel Hartmann - Manitowaning

Danyka is our 23 year old teacher who travels every week to share her devotion to dance with the children of Manitoulin Island. Over the last five years she has builiding a dance community in Wikwemikong as well as all over the City of Sudbury. Most of her dance training was completed at the Ida Suave Dance Studio, one of Sudbury's oldest dance schools. In her many years of dance she has participated in numerous competitions, recitals, other community peformances and assisited many dance classes. she began her dance-teaching career in 2010 with Dance Evolution, and now teaches for 3 studios. Having almost completed her ADAPT teachers training, she is really looking forward to the years to come. From running pro-bono dance clubs to putting together year-end concerts, she never turns down an opportunity to share her passion and help others discover theirs!
2017/2018 Classes: Enrollment is limited
Class 1: 4:00 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. - Ballet/Jazz Level 1 (Age 3-5)
Criteria: First/second year of dance, No dance expereince necessary

Class 2: 4:45 pm - 5:30 pm - Acro Level 1 (Age 6-8)
Criteria: First year of dance

Class 3: 5:30 pm - 6:15pm - Tap Level 1 (Age 6-12)
Criteria: Tap Shoes

Class 4: 6:15 pm - 7:00 pm - Acro Level 2 (Ages 7-13)
Criteria: Taken previous lessons, Attended dance camp

Class 5: 7:00 pm - 7:45 pm - Ballet/Jazz Level 2 (Ages 6-13)
Criteria: Taken previous lessons, Attended dance class

Class 6: 7:45 pm - 8:30 pm - Hip Hop/Musical Theatre Level 1 (Ages 6 +)
Criteria: Must take another class

Dance Attire:

5 and Under - Any color body suit + pink tights
6 and over - Black body suit + Pink/Black tights


Ballet- Pink full
Tap - Beige full sole lace up
Jazz - Black lace up/Black slip on
Acro - Bare feet


Hair must be pulled out of students face tied in a tight pony tail, bun or french braids. French braids reccommended for Acro dancers to allow them to somersault and flip
Items can be purchased at the Jump Skate and Dance Store - Sudbury
Registration at Active Living Studio
September 13th, 19th, and 20th from 6:30 pm - 8:00pm
